Hi, I'm Kim
My love for photography began in my late teenage years when I was gifted my first camera, a gesture that quietly shaped the course of my life. My journey started as long days photographing wildlife along the shoreline and wandering through pine forests with a camera in hand and later evolved into portrait work. As friends and family began asking me to document their lives, I found my true creative home in capturing people and the stories they live every day. After college, I became the Director of Marketing at a large physical therapy practice, where I shoot photography to create original content for websites, social media, and advertising, sharpening my eye for storytelling, branding, and meaningful visuals.
I am a documentary-style photographer, meaning my sessions are relaxed, movement-filled, and centered around authenticity. Rather than stiff poses or constant direction, I focus on following you as you are offering gentle posing guidance, verbal prompts, and visual cues to help you feel comfortable in front of the camera without ever feeling “posed.” This approach allows space for real connection, natural emotion, and moments that unfold organically.
Candid moments are where I thrive. Sun flares, motion blur, belly laughs, silly faces, and toddlers who keep me on my toes are some of my favorite things. If you’re looking for picture perfect, cookie-cutter poses, I may not be the photographer for you, but if you want imagery that captures the real story of your life in those perfectly imperfect moments in between, you’re in the right place. My goal is simple: to freeze the memories that actually matter.
My approach
Being a "Documentary Style" photographer means my sessions are more following you around letting you be yourself than barking orders or telling your kids to sit still. I do offer professional posing guidance and will give you verbal or visual prompts to try to make you comfortable being in front of the camera, but I try not to be too bossy with my posing because want to make sure to capture the most authentic version of my subjects. After all, those are the memories you really want to freeze when it comes down to it. I thrive in creative sessions and candid moments are my jam. If you are looking for picture perfect, cookie cutter poses I may not be the girl for you. Give me all the sun flares, motion blurs, silly faces, and toddlers that give me a run for my money and help me get my steps in for the day! My whole goal is to caption the *real* story of you, in those perfectly imperfect moments in between poses.
